Cart-Away Concrete Systems, Inc. is a Veteran Owned Small Business
Enterprise. We manufacture a premium line of concrete batching and
mixing equipment. Over 2000 of our model CMT-100, 1 cubic yard
mixing trailers are in use by contractors around the United States.
Our equipment is famous for both its durability and its ease of
maintenance. Our systems are particularly valuable for projects
which are remote or which have difficult access. Both our mixing
trailers and the C.U.B.E. (our self-contained concrete batching
system) are capable of producing from 1/4th cubic yard to 12 cubic
yards of concrete per hour.
Our history is one of innovation and performance. Begun in 1966 in San Jose, California, McClintock Metal Fabricators (our predecessor company) for almost 40 years proved worthy of its motto, “Promises Kept,” providing custom manufacturing services for such companies as General Electric Nuclear, Krebs Engineers, Siemens Transportation, and Bechtel. In 1974, Tom Vail joined the company in its engineering department. He became a part owner and Board Member in 1977 and president in 1981.
In 1988, for the first time we started to produce a product of our own – a line of Bear-Proof trash containers and food lockers. This product line was sold, primarily through a GSA contract, to parks and forests all over the United States. In 1993, the assets of Cart-Away were purchased and McClintock Metal had its
second product line. In 2003, Tom and his wife Marion completed the
purchase of McClintock Metal. The Bear-proof product line was sold
to a competitor in 2004 and in the same year the remainder of the
company was moved to Oregon and reincorporated under the laws of
Oregon as Cart-Away Concrete Systems, Inc.
Since 2004, Cart-Away Concrete has concentrated on the manufacture and sale of trailer-based concrete equipment. For over 15 years, Cart-Away (and its predecessor, McClintock Metal) has been the leader in the trailer-based concrete equipment industry. The same team that built the Cart-Away line at McClintock Metal continues to support the best line of trailer-based concrete equipment. Bruce Christensen (General Manager), Scott Crist (Sales Manager), and Monte Pardee (Operations Manager) were the keys to building Cart-Away’s success at McClintock Metal and they continue doing so with the new company. The Company is under the same ownership, Tom and Marion Vail.
In 2006, Cart-Away was awarded with the Most Innovative Product Award (for Concrete Production and Delivery) by the over 75,000 attendees at the World of Concrete Exposition. In the same year Cart-Away was awarded the Top 25 Contractors’ Choice Award by Concrete Contractor Magazine and the 2006 – 101 Product Picks Award from Permanent Buildings and Foundations.
